Song ANGLES (Robbie Williams)
Hi,
This song is great if you want to practise general vocabulary. You may start by asking students if they know who Robbie Williams is. They tell you what they know about him, and what songs he sings. You may elicit the song "Angels". It is a good idea to play the whole song before starting with the activities suggested in the printable. Then, they may predict what the song is about (you might write some options on the board: friendship, love, hate, etc.). Next, you play the song once (or twice if it is necessary)and students put the parts in order (they write the numbers in the colour squares). Check this task by playing the song again but stopping after each part, and eliciting the right number for each part. After this task, give pupils some time for them to carry out activity B. They may do it individually or in pairs. Check this task by eliciting the word students wrote and playing the corresponding line of the song (you will not have trouble to do this because they are in the order they appear in the song. Finally, you explain pupils that they are going to work with the last stanza. Individually or in pairs, students predict which the right word is and circle it (remind them that context is crucial in this task). You play the song and check. It would be nice if you play the whole song and invite student to sing together. Students love this song. Good luck!
