Present Perfect Practice - Song: I still havenīt found what Iīm looking for - U2
Great and fun activity to review the present perfect tense and past participle verbs. I started the activity by writing on slips the missing verbs in itīs infinitive form. Once students receive the slips, they have to write(in different colors) the simple past and past participle for of the verb right below the base form (for extra challenge, they are asked to write an example in the present perfect tense as well). As soon as the slips are completed, theyīre laid down on the floor and students separate them into regular and irregular verbs. Now that theyīre aware of the verb form, they receive the song sheet and will try to fill it out using the verbs on the floor. The song is played so they can check their work (and have some fun). You can easily find the video clip on youtube.com.
