Favorite Song Presentations
These are the student instructions for presenting a favorite song to the class. Students enjoy this activity because they get to talk about, listen to, and even sing songs that they and their classmates like. Presentation skills are practiced, and student presenters prepare discussion questions related to the song´s theme and lyrics. (Small group discussion is recommended.) It´s student-centered, but with clear structure; the instructions provide a template that students fill in with their own musical tastes and discussion topics, which usually connect to their own lives, goals, worries, and joys.
