Euphemisms
An activity on English euphemisms. Cut the sheet into cards. Put students into groups (2-4 students per group). One student picks up a card and reads the euphemism. The others guess. If they have no idea, the student holding the card gives them a clue.

Cleft Sentences
Put students in pairs. Give each half of the page. Students take turns. One student says a regular sentence and tells the other to say the sentence as a cleft sentence starting with the word in brackets (what, it, etc). The answers to the sentence is below. Introductory "it"
Get some tokens. Put students in pairs. Give each a set of tokens. Students make sentences starting with the word "It" using one of the words at the top and one of the phrases on the left. Students try to make a vertical, horizontal or a diagonal line consisting of four tokens of their color in the row.

Sports-related collocations
- Cut the sheets up into cards.
- Put students into groups of 3 or 4.
- Deal out the black cards to the students.
- Lay down the blue cards on the table in a grid.
- Students take turns flipping one of the cards on the table, then try to make a collocation with one of the cards in their hand. If they succeed they keep both cards, if not...
