Monopoly Game Dialogue
I love having a group of kids play Monopoly and practice their English in a "real-life" type situation. I previously posted https://www.eslprintables.com/powerpoint.asp?id=96132 a ppt about how to play Monopoly. This is a dialogue to take the conversation a step further.

Beginning Reports Using Cloze: Animals
I teach English to a small group of Chinese early elementary students. I have had great success with this type of oral report to help build student confidence and fluency in speaking before their classmates. An example of the brief report is at the bottom of the data page and students search through the data to fill in the information for their spo...

Three Little Pigs Word Analysis Using WordSift 2
I am presenting this amazing web tool to my ESL colleagues in case they might find it useful. Although I used a simple story as the example, the tool will work with large amounts of text and can be very useful linguistically.

Oral Presentation Scoring Guide
What do you look for when students give oral reports? This rubric helps isolate particular aspects of making an oral presentation. I tell my students that this form makes the presentation evaluation 70 percent objective and 30 percent subjective. For example, we can count how many times a student repeats a word. I either make a tic or actually writ...

"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" Matching Activity
I have searched the site and cant find any activities related to the work of Laura Numeroff, author of a childrens series "If you give a ____ a ______". My primary students love the stories and they are readily available on YouTube or YouKou. A link is printed at the bottom of the worksheet. The activity takes reading comprehension a step further...

Three Sheep Songs
Easter season is a good time to teach these three nursery rhymes: Baa Baa Black Sheep, Little Bo Peep, and Mary Had a Little Lamb. There are lots of videos of these songs on Youtube or Youkou (China) and the kids love to sing them. I used this worksheet as a summary review close activity. Good vocabulary building and verb tense practice.
