Emphasis and Expression
I find that my students like to speak in a monotone, so I designed a lesson that would get them to speak with a bit more emphasis and expression in their voices. I explained that emphasis on certain words can change the meaning of a sentence: use example of "I am going to the shop", students listen and underline the emphasised word, then...

Snow White Script - Scene 4
I wrote this fairly simple script for a school production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. It is designed to be around 5 minutes long, and the number of characters is easily adaptable (i.e. take out one of the narrators to make only 1 narrator, or add more dwarves!). This is scene 4!

Horoscope - Zodiac Song - Listening Exercise
This worksheet accompanies a song called "Whats your sign?" by Desree. The song is about horoscope/zodiac, so great for a lesson on star signs! :) The song is quite slow and the English is clear and easy to understand I think. It can be found on youtube! Students answer questions related to the song on the first page: circle the zodiac signs m...
