Topics and Tenses Speaking Activity
Tchr cuts up cards for ss to use in small groups. Ss have two piles of cards ("Topic" and "Tense"), and in turns, they take one card from each pile. They speak on that topic, using that tense for at least half their sentences. Tchr decides minimum speaking time, depending on level. Good for IELTS Speaking Parts 1 & 2.

Speaking activity (IELTS Pt 3)
Topics and question starters suitable for ss preparing for IELTS. Std A chooses a topic and creates Part 3-type questions using the suggestions provided. Std B answers. Ss identify 6 biomes (forest, freshwater, desert, ocean, tundra, grassland - these are the ones in the book we are using: Everybody Up 5, Unit 4) and find animals associated with them. I have included pictures of the animals my ss may not know. 49 words total, occasional overlap allowed, all directions allowed. Solution included.

It�s easy to find plenty of these for kids, but I wanted something less cutesy and more appropriate for my class of police officers!
