Valentine ´s Day: Commercial hype or romantic opportunity?

Hi!

I need your help and thoughts!
I would like to ask you to vote if you consider Valentine s Day to be a commercial day or a romantic oportunity to tell your loved ones, friends etc, how much you love them!!
I m working with a group of students on the topic and I need to collect opinions for a survey!

What do you think then?Heart
@AAGG, Thank you for voting!! Hug
Who else is there!?

Hi there Sam,

I d vote the first option. You can tell and show people how much you love them in different ways and at different times.

certainly, the first choice.  a person shouldn t wait for the romantic day s coming to explain his or her love to the people around him or her...

Hi, Sam,

I also vote the first one for the mentioned reasons. I agree with roadrunnerr and AAGG - you don t need a special date to tell those you love that you do love them.

Hugs from very cold Portugal.

hi :)

i think it is a kind of chance to spend a romantic day. we are likely to find an excuse for anything and miss the lovely sides of life! just enjoy! you dont need to buy expensive things or go to an expensive restaurant if you think so. Of course we can tell our love at different times but why not one universal special day ? :)

I agree with Cordell. There is no need to expensive things .Sometimes just only a bunch of flower is enough and also getting this on the 14 th of February would be nice.

Thank you for your answers so far everyone!!!.... I appreciate it very much! :-)
I personally think this bomarding of read hearts, pink teddy bears and paper cupids shooting arrows is extremely awful! :-) (Don t judge me please, I m not bitter... though single at the moment Wacko) but yes, Valentines Day is becoming increasingly commercialised with each passing of the years!....

Put it in the same bag as Xmas, New Year, Halloween, Secretaries Day etc. I think all these days were invented by the Association of Shopkeepers, Florists and Department Stores.

I ve got to go with Philip on this one. Valentine s Day was most definitely invented by a greetings cards company. Although I think Xmas was stolen by the Roman Christians from the pagans before being taken over by commercialism.

Personally I find Valentine s Day makes me want to put a pencil through my own eye to escape the hideous quantities of pink and red in every shop window. Is that too melodramatic . it s hard to tell!

Good luck with your survey!
