Hello, I also work with adults (but with children and teenagers, too)... I teach at private language schools in Slovakia, and I also teach English at various companies.... My oldest student is about 70 (that is my sensible guess:))... It is different from teaching kids, a lot I think...adults have a lot of questions, they need to know rules for everything and most of them always tend to compare English to Slovak in every way.... But of course, I like teaching English everybody who wants to learn...

hi, I teach adults in Portugal (night classes as they all work during the day...) and it s sometimes really hard as they have different levels of English and we need to get the right balance...

If you think about about it, adults are kids with a different level of socialisation. Very few kids, for example, complain about value for money (although there are plenty of adults who believe in language learning through osmosis - without any effort or input on their own part and are, naturally, quite willing to pay for it)
Personally speaking, though, after centuries of teaching kids in mainstream, I prefer teaching adults - both FE and privately.

I teach adults too but haven t got much experience yet. I would like to talk to someone who has and maybe get some new ideas...

I teach all levels. Kids, adults, teenagers... They all present their different challenges. I prefer kids though since I have had way too many adults that think English can be learnt by some magic formula. The "osmosis" method as almaz so nicely put it... absorption through sitting in class, not wanting to participate and thinking that they are going to learn that way! Oh yes, I LOVE those type of students! Not!
