Well... this worksheet has been reported three times in the last 3 days. It was ALWAYS voted to stay. Moderators think that it can be useful for some people. Not everybody has teenage students, some of us teach adult learners. So.. if you don t like it, don t download it, don t use it... but don t play God here and think you are the one to say what is or what is not appropriate. Even though I would never use it with teenagers... I sometimes think that they face quite worse things on TV and on the Internet.... and of course in real life.... Almost nude people and drug-taking is something that all of us (even teenagers and little children) can watch at ANY TIME on TV. But being this for adult (adult = over eighteen years old) students, I think it should stay. If I were the student I would not ge alarmed if my teacher brought this to the classroom to provoke discussion.

It was reported many times by different users and there was a hot debate about it but most of moderators see it as an esl resource and can be suitbale for adults then voted for it to stay.
That s all what I have to say about it.
Have nice time.

I totally agree with the two previous members . Instead of  blaming  others for not respecting the rules  , you d better watch out what you are doing  ! ( see Mena s comments on your latest ws. )

I agree with the others. I also voted for it to stay since "controversial" things are part of life and, unfortunately, kids nowadays see worse things on TV, at the movies or on the Internet.

Happily we are not able to report what we don t like, or we would have no wss at all on the site.

As others have said, it was reported 3 times and most of the moderators voted it to stay, and I am among the ones who think it s not to be removed.

If someone can tell the rule it infringes we ll remove it, but up to now no one pointed to a rule, they merely conveyed their opinion - they don t like it, they wouldn t use it, they don t use this kind of material, they think it s not suitable for classes. None of them told us more than a simple opinion, but we are not to judge worksheets and the worksheets are not to stay or go according to our opinion. We have rules and the moderating staff just checks if the worksheet infringes the rules. None of us have found a rule this worksheet is infringing, so it remains on the site.

Nobody has to download a worksheet. However, it seems that it remaining here offends some members in some way I can t really get. They act like they do at home, when they accept or not people if they like them or not; they buy or ban a magazine because it s offensive according to their moral values or principles.

We do that at home, but ESL printables is not our home. We can t act according to our mood or change ideas / rules just because we want to. We have to obey the rules and be objective when reviewing a worksheet. As a group we have to understand that the rules are made to protect the member s rights, not only MY RIGHT or someone else s.

This teacher has uploaded a worksheet he uses with his adult students based on a commercial (found in magazines, published, accepted, etc....) and his ws provides English practice.

In the world I live in, there are drugs, sex, crimes, and all sorts of things I wish I had a buttom to simply press and ban - but there isn t. And we teach English to be used in real life, not only for classroom role-playings and cute poems and songs.

If some would rather ignore some real facts, that s OK for me, but they can t ask us to just ban things that show the human beings real colors. We all have a bad and a good side, like the world - that reflects its inhabitants.

If it doesn t cater the public taste, just look for something else among more than 300,000 worksheets you have here, maybe you find what you need.

Have a nice day!

So what if someone decides to post  other more explicit  pictures from  pornographic mags. Is that O.K. once  ESL activities are included? I think this needs to be taken into consideration for the future.  Before we are overunned with the likes of this material.

@tech_teacher, we ll ban the pornographic material because pornography is illegal. We don t need a rule to ban it because in this case we would rely in LAWS.

I think ( but I may  be wrong ) there is a rule preventing any member from posting porn. iconography on a site. I hope anyone here  won t go that far , cause I won t vote for his/her ws. to stay , I swear !

Some people accuse the moderators of going on a witch hunting, but who is hunting what now?

We have already checked and reviwed it 3 times and got tons of comments on it. Will they keep reporting it? Can t they accept we didn t see anything wrong or offensive (more than the reality) on it?

If they don t have anything more to do except from trying to ban this ws, why don t they start creating their own work? Why do they want so deeply that we do what they want?

Wake, Albert Angel or whatever your name is (sorry, I can t follow you, you re too fast changing...) please erase the worksheet link from the forum. You re unnecessarily exposing the member, because your willing to erase the ws has already exposed the ws, it returns to the recent contributions page every day!

If only you stopped reporting it, maybe it won t be so visible and won t bother you more than it seems it does.
