Hi friends, I am planning to publish my compilation of short stories and poems through authorhouse UK publisher, in order to do this, I need to invest ( transfer my money) about 731.50 US dollar to 1045 US dollar. I really want to do this but I just want to know whether this publishing company is reliable enough, how can I be sure on the reliability of this publishing company? any other suggestion on other publishing company? Help me please....
Sincerely, Sirhajwan

To be honest - you need to get yourself a lawyer you trust.
If you need to sign your name to any legal document - you just might be signing away the rights and royalties of your work to this company.
A good lawyer can determine if this is a trustworthy company. NEVER, ever sign your name to anything you are not sure of. You could end in financial ruin !!!
A good lawyer is worth the price. Good luck

Just try googling authorhouse scam (there s a typical hit here), then decide if you want to even bother with a lawyer.
Caveat emptor (or is it venditor here?) and all that! |

It s not enough that you Google this publishing company.
I have lots of songlyrics out there on CDs - so I know from experience. I am signed by Warner Chappell, which is a well-known music publishing company,- but I still have legal aid when signing anything!
Check out this company - and if you are still in doubt - get legal aid.
Unless people here are professionals in this branch - they really can t give you the information you need. You need help and advise from someone in the "know".
I don t mean to be rude or undermine anyone here- but this is really outside the competence of this forum, except for those who have published their work.

almaz - That is exactly what sirhaj is asking for - advice on publishing and investment. That is about as legal as you can get.

Ah, so the first part of your advice
Check out this company - and if you are still in doubt - get legal aid.
is basically the same as your second?
Sir hasn t signed anything yet, as far as I m aware, and is simply putting out some feelers. |
