To be - insert the right form
This exercise is meant for practising "to be".
Cut out the small cards and give them to a group of 2 - 6 students. Place the cards upside down on the table. The first student picks up a card and reads the sentence, inserting the correct form of "to be". If it´s correct, the student gets that card = 1 point.
The cards can alos be used for an exercise, in which one has to move around in the classroom. Divide the students in groups of 4 - 6. Again, each group gets a stack of cards. Write the words "am, is, are, was, were" on separate papers and place these papers on a table a cople of meters from the group. Again,a student picks up a card and reads it, but now he has to walk to the right paper and place the card under it. E.g., if the card says: "Lucy _______ furious yesterday" he will place it under the paper where it says "was".
I hope you´ll find this useful. : )
