Idioms: flash-cards / posters
These flash-cards will help you introduce new idioms and their meaning. I normally teach an idiom per day as a starter activity.
Procedure: I first show the idiom to the students and ask them to brainstorm ideas about the meaning. Then I explain the meaning of the idiom with examples. Afterwards, I ask them to invent their own meaningful example...
