I am now, after more than 5 decades in the work force, officially semi-retired. New hobby: gardening. Old hobby restarting: table tennis. I still have some classes to teach and materials to design, many of which I will continue to share with the dear members of ESLPs. You may come across my materials on Facebook and my blog.

Days of the Week: Tuesday and Wednesday (4 worksheets, color and B & W)
Search the internet for worksheets dealing with individual days of the week. There is hardly anything out there, so to fill another gap I am starting this new series, which I hope you will enjoy. In choosing the sentences and graphics, I have tried to relate to the mostly happy events in the the life of children.

Capital Track I in full color, black and white and blank.
You can certainly use these with adults, they love them. Lots of new vocabulary and a spelling challenge even for all. I am using the capital letters A, E, I, O and U to introduce vocabulary with long vowel sounds. I have yet to use this in class so you could be the first in the world. As I get time I will produce the others.Suggestions on how to ...

This can be used as a poster and can be printed clearly at A3 size or you can use it as an activity card to show when and why each quantifier takes There is or There are... You can also cut it into 6 flashcards if you wish. Used them with my Quantifying Flash Cards and my What did they buy? worksheets. There are a few apples. There is a little ri...

Clipit Cards 41-60 of 60 with backs
Print, laminate and cut out the cards. Scatter the cards and give each child a clothespin/peg. The child attaches it to one of the words and, if correct, keeps the cards. These can also be used in flash card games. They will look a lot more professional if you give them backs.

3 pages of Phonic Fun with ou: worksheet, story and key (#10)
Hi, See my account for other worksheets in this series. The stories are classified as "decodable", but unlike many so called decodable stories these have over 90 percent decodable text as opposed to the 40- 60 percent found in most "phonic readers" I mix sentence fragments with grammatically correct sentences as fragments are often easier for beg...

Plurals to Singular Crossword 2 with keys.
After noticing that most worksheets move from the singular to the plural, I decided to reverse the situation. Children are encouraged to write the plurals first and then the singular. This one is slightly more difficult than the first.

Mini Book 6: Bang! Bang! Bang! in colour and greyscale
This is an adaptation of a story I wrote in 2007. This story uses only phonically regular words, 5 short vowels and a limited number of consonants. For reading comprehension interact with the children like this: What is the man doing? Can you bang your desk? Does your doorbell go bong? What sound do (cymbals) make? And suchlike. You can ask the...

You will need the playing board, which is here: http://www.eslprintables.com/printable.asp?id=463371#this#. The cards can be used independently of the board. Print 2 sets and play matching games, have reading races, mimes and more. Have advanced students use the "Spell!" cards to make sentences using the comparative and superlative forms. The "Rea...

A, An or Some
Last semester I gave my uni students a lovely worksheet from Ana (Katiana), which used a, an, some, much, many and any as a review, and they did so badly. Dont blame me. Anyway I have created this one in the hope that they will more than just guess and gain some confidence in their English. I hope you dont need an answer key at this level.
