I am now, after more than 5 decades in the work force, officially semi-retired. New hobby: gardening. Old hobby restarting: table tennis. I still have some classes to teach and materials to design, many of which I will continue to share with the dear members of ESLPs. You may come across my materials on Facebook and my blog.

Adverbs and Adjectives: puzzles and keys
Students complete the word search and crossword, then complete the sentences with a suitable adverb from the word search or the correct form of the adjective given in the crossword. This may be a new project for me, depending on the response I get. Putting fun back into the classroom, I hope.

3 pages of Phonic Fun with oo: worksheet, story and key (#8)
Hi, See my account for other worksheets in this series. I mix sentence fragments with grammatically correct sentences as fragments are often easier for beginners to understand. If you wish to edit the "word bank" out, open the document, copy the file, paste into MSPaint and erase the word bank. There will be many worksheets in the series. Chil...

The teacher, out of direct sight of the students, takes a paper clip and pencil or chopstick and spins the clip around the pencil point in the /sh/ s...

3 pages of Phonic Fun with ai: worksheet, story and key (#17)
Hi, See my account for other worksheets in this series. The stories are classified as "decodable", but unlike many so called decodable stories these have over 90 percent decodable text as opposed to the 40- 60 percent found in most "phonic readers" I mix sentence fragments with grammatically correct sentences as fragments are often easier for beg...

Months of the Year: July and August (4 worksheets color and B & W)
The colouring of July is not perfect as I reduced the number of colours to squeeze in August. A unique design to indicate the northern and southern hemispheres. I intend to use 24 countries altogether. We really need for children to get a grasp of the wider world. They trace over the words, color when using the B & W worksheet, then read what they ...

Pronoun Flashcards: 13-24 of 70
This collection of cards will eventually evolve into a game, but in the meantime use them for a written activity. Give your students some cards and have them write Q & A in their notebooks. Some of these cards may be also found on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/blendingahand/ (which is my group).

There is a B & W track for children to take home and play, then when they learn and remember a word they can color the picture. Then there is a blank "a" track for you to make your own track. If you want to colour it just drag it into MSPaint and fill the blocks. I put a t...
